About Tyrone
I started in Program Management, then went on to Customer Service Delivery and now I'm in Service Transformation and I love choosing, and getting the opportunity, to do the right thing every single day.
There is what you do and then there’s how you go about it.
On the “what”: Prior to joining AustralianSuper, I was with AMP/AXA for over 9 years in various roles including business operations, product management and project management.
The common thread from a technical perspective is they have all been in product development/management. From a skills perspective they have all required me to concurrently undertake a broad range of tasks, to be comfortable at both strategy and fine detail and to work well with a range of people with different skills at all levels of the company.
While I found everything I undertook interesting, more notable pieces of work include developing and launching the award-winning North Product and Platform, developing strategies and solutions for the corporate super and SMSF segments, being a managed fund product manager during the most volatile period of the GFC, managing a large team of analysts and developing general management skills in my last role at AMP supporting the Group Executive.
Okay so how do I go about it? People say I am easy to work with and can work with anyone. Yes that’s true, but it’s also reflection of the people I work with and the culture of the workplace. I get stuff done - I consider myself a doer. Finally, being successful in a large organisation requires you be able to read, empathise and anticipate others in order to successfully navigate your way around.
I am driven by my need to help others – particularly end customers – I get a lot of satisfaction when I can clearly see that link in my work. Being at AustralianSuper enables me to see that every day.
