As 2nd gen CEO of a global credit & risk management company (with a footprint in 100+ countries) I helped navigate the digital & regulatory challenges of this complex modern economy.

One of my roles was to elevate the groups compliance standards, particularly quality and cyber / data security, so we searched the world for a tool to help us… an ISO9001 / 27001 type implementation, but for SMEs. It didn’t exist.

So we built the origins of Certified By for ourselves, and soon realised there was a world of SMEs and nonprofits also in need of a similar solution. A way to democratise risk and essential compliance for Small & Medium Sized Businesses, who are otherwise ignored by enterprise GRC players. To let businesses of all shapes and size to measure, improve and certify themselves to best practice standards of (initially) Workplace Relations, Cyber Security and Sustainability / ESG.
