Tackling Manufacturing Emissions through Cryogenic Carbon Capture - PuriFire Labs

Decarbonization Demo Day on December 2nd is approaching fast - only 5 days to go! As our 12 week program comes to an end, we are checking in to see how our startups are doing! One of the startups, PuriFire Labs, is taking a huge step to combat a huge climate challenge - global emissions.

PuriFire Labs is a carbon capture company that is tackling the problem of global emissions from manufacturing industries. Using their proprietary cryogenic carbon capture solutions, PuriFire is converting waste emissions to valuable commodities for downstream use or sequestration. They are working to prevent millions of tons of carbon emissions from entering the atmosphere.

According to co-founder Neel Shah, polluting industries such as steel and cement contribute to 31% of all global emissions, and electricity production contributes another 27%!

To make a change, PuriFire Labs have plans to address 58% of global emissions through their innovative technology. PuriFire labs will be initially targeting bio energy plants and small factories. As they grow and prove the viability of their technology, they plan to apply their technology to larger factories and even hydrogen production. PuriFire Labs is working towards drastically impacting the industry to make a dent in carbon emissions.

During the program with SBC, Neel and his team undertook a problem discovery exercise with Mitsubishi and NYK leaders which connected them with influential stakeholders. Speaking with these impactful individuals enabled PuriFire to refine and update their product development roadmap to help partners address their key emissions challenges
