We are commemorating the start of week 5 of our Sports and EventTech program with an introduction to Sonnant.
We met with Sonnant founder, Tony Simmons to learn about their startup and its role in the media industry.
Sonnant is focused on helping media companies transition to be more digital. Their AI-powered product helps organisations enable work-flow efficiency, increase monetisation of old and new content, and deliver a more personalised experience for audience.
So what does it do? Sonnant’s AI-platform has an automated process that splits content into segments based on topics. It uses those segments and place ad-markers at strategic times and ensures there is contextual alignment between the content covered and what is being advertised.
The platform automates this labour-intensive process by automatically selecting the times for the ad placement to significantly reduces time and cost for organisations.
Additionally, with the contextual alignment there is increase engagement and can generate more effective leads for the advertiser which in turn could increase the profitability for the media creator.
From the fan's perspective, Tony hopes that Sonnant can deliver more personalised content based on what fans have engaged with. Tony explained that fans can be sent segments that apply to their interests, increasing fan engagement and making the content-consuming experience more personalised.
Tony is excited about the mentor feedback Sonnant can receive from Startupbootcamp. He hopes to improve their product-market fit and is excited about the industry experts who can help them tailor their product and pitch to achieve just that.
Tony also shared that some mentor feedback from the selection days has reinforced information that he already knew and given him more confidence in moving forward.
