Goodbye to Batteries and Hello to Radioisotopic Power that Lasts for Decades - DKS

The count down to Decarbonization Demo Day is on! With our program nearly to the end, we are thrilled to hear how our 9 top startup companies are tackling climate challenges.

Direct Kinetics Solutions is doing just that. Has one of your portable devices ran out of power before? Direct Kinetics Solutions has found a way to help! Ekhi Muniategui, CEO, has developed a continuous radioisotopic power source that uses a small piece of tritium to generate a reliable current that can run for decades. Using this technology, they minimise the need to replace batteries. Additionally, they are able to power small satellites and geo tracking devices. These devices are reliable and safe for critical operations because they can last for a super long time. Direct Kinetics Solutions, in this way also helps to minimise waste in empty batteries and reduces the impact of discarding too many devices.

Over the course of the program DKS has been collaborating closely with Mitsubishi Corporation and NYK Line to understand their use and potential in the energy and shipping industry. Meeting mentors and leaders in these sectors has led Direct Kinetics Solutions to higher productivity because they have been able to grow their technology and their customer portfolio at the same time.

Looking into the future, we are excited to see how Direct Kinetics Solutions will take their company to the next level. Interested in hearing more about Ekhi’s journey? Register for Demo Day on Dec 2nd here: https://www.startupbootcamp.com.au/demo-day/dc22
